My beautiful daughter requested I make these for her. They are sterling silver, fire polished beads and dark blue tourmaline. Great for casual or dress.

Amethyst weave

Just sold these woven and coiled sterling earrings to a good friend. She fell in love with them at first sight.

The beautiful Amethyst crystals really shine when they hit the light.

My #2 Grand daughter liked these woven earrings. They are sterling silver and just the right size for young teens to ladies.

Swinging Tourmaline

These are one of my favorite "Dress-up" earrings. Made from Sterling Silver, Watermelon Tourmaline and Swarovski Crystal they swing and sway and with all the colors, match just about anything you can wear.

This is one of the earrings shown in The Earring Style Book. The differnce between mine and the author's styles is I left off the little dangles she had on them.

These are an intermediate task and are wonderful to wear.

New styles of earrings for me.

I may wear jeans and T-shirts most of the time, but I am not "dressed" until I have on my jewelry! Earrings being my mainsay.

I have been making several new styles and love them. They are swingy and fun.

I recently bought The Earring Style Book by Stephanie A. Wells. It shows several basic frames for earrings and ways to decorate these frames. Of course, you can use your imagination and decorate them any way you want.

This is a great "idea" book. I would suggest you make a few of her designs - just to get the hang of it then branch out on your own with your ideas. I think you will find these to be a lot of fun.

What can I say - I haven't been a very good blogger!

I started this blog several years ago to share pictures of jewelry, ideas, techniques, designs, and anything else I could find regarding jewelry making. I've heard it said that if you didn't get "it" done in the past, how is a great time to start. So here goes!!!!!

I am aiming for 1 blog per week with either new photos of my work or if you'd like to share your work, I'd love to feature you.

I will do my best to find new ideas, techniques, and even share failures. I will share what works for me and what doesn't.

So here goes.......

I have started creating again.  No brilliant designs are coming forth, but at least I am putting tools to metal and it feels good.  Pictures will be coming soon.

Good grief!!!!  Here it is October 21st, 2011.  Yeah - it's been a whole year since I've written here.  Guess I just wasn't meant to be a blogger.
Maybe I should just shut this thing down and give it up as a lost cause.

Well, Summer has finally set in in fine fashion. Tonight, while eating dinner on our deck, it was 90* and 18% humidity. It was GREAT!!!!!!

I haven't had the urge to do any jewelry in quite a while. In fact, I'm thinking very seriously about just packing away all my stones, beads, and metals. I could use the room for better purposes.

I have started walking in the evenings with my hubby. I haven't walked very far in quite a long time so walking a mile last night was a great accomplishment for me. Yes, I was proud of myself. Mostly, all of this is getting ready to go to Yellowstone National Park. We will be doing some short walks to see all the geysers and hot pots - and I really don't want to be left behind. So I'm really pushing to walk 2 miles in the next couple of days. Even if I have to do it in 2 one mile stretches.

I'm Not good at Blogging!

Four months is a long time between blogs! Good grief, we've celebrated Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Valentines Day and the Olympics!!!

You'd think I'd have had something to say about one of these! And, in retrospect, I can say that they were all delightful!

This is probably why I don't have a Journal or Family History written - I just don't do it! So no one will know how great my family is or what health issues we've had or how cute my grandkids are.

What a day!

Our daughter got her leg broken in an indoor soccer game last night. She had surgery this morning to insert a metal rod into the Tibia.

She has 4 children ranging in age from 10 down to 1. And guess who is the designated Baby-sitter! Yep, yours truly! Oh well, it's not too bad. The older girls are helping quite a bit.

Garden got Frozen

The low temp was supposed to be 33* - and hubby said "don't worry, the garden will be fine". Well, just goes to show you how wrong he was. No more green beans, no more squash (which isn't all bad) no more peppers :o(

Guess we will have to pull up all the plants this weekend and let the ground rest. We still have potatos, carrots and onions we an leave in for a while longer.

Making "Life Path" pendants today to send to Gallery 873. So I guess I had best get to work.

Where did it go????

I don't know about you, but we went from Summer to Winter in less than 24 hours!!!
Holy Cow - from 85* to 48*. And to think that I moved to Utah voluntarily! Of course, that was about 30 odd years ago when I was young and stupid.

My muse has taken the summer off - so I really didn't do much creating this year. I have been making soldered window pane frames with pressed flowers and personalized pictures in them. They are fun and really easy - even my 10 y/o grand daughter can do them. And she loves doing them for her friends.

OK, I promise to keep this blog going on a more even keel. I will post more often and show more pictures.

Is it summer yet?????

If you live in Utah, the answer is a definite NO!!! But it should be here by the end of the week. I am keeping my fingers crossed!

I have been busy making soft solder charms. They are a diversion from regular soldering, but definitely a "No Brainer". They are quite popular here right now, so I will make what sells.
